The Costumer's Manifesto - An insane site packed with information and links. It's being revamped and is now a wiki which anyone can edit, but the old site (easiest navigated through the timeline) is still up as well.
La Couturière Parisienne - "This site is all about period costume, from the Middle Ages up to the early 20th century. Access 4000 costume pictures through a database, read one of hundreds of articles, or download some authentic period patterns." In German and English.
Early Modern Resources - "Early Modern Resources is a gateway site for anyone studying the early modern period (c.1500-1800 CE)."
Eras of Elegance - Quick overviews of the entire history of Western fashion, plus information about contemporary history and culture to help put it in context.
Fashion-Era - A huge site detailing the history of fashion with both contemporary and original illustrations.
Fashioning the Early Modern - Projects funded by HERA which aim to answer questions about fashion and textiles from 1500 to 1800.
Grand Ladies - Fashion history (mostly) through portraits of notable women.
The History of Costume by Braun & Scheider - Digitized book of plates printed between 1861 and 1880 in Munich, with mid-Victorian impressions of Western fashion history as well as some worldwide costume. It's available in print here.
History Unstitched - A resource for costumers affiliated with Your Wardrobe Unlock'd. This time, articles cover antiquity to 1699. Requires a subscription.
Katherine's Dress Site - The personal site of costumer Katherine C-G (and her lovely kitties), where you'll find A+++ reproductions, patterns, antique clothing, fashion plates, etc. See more on her blog and her Flickr page.
Sense & Sensibility's Vintage Image Gallery - Contemporary images and extant objects from 1795 to 1959 and discussions about them, put together by Sense & Sensibility (the pattern people).
